How to Make it
Kentucky Fried Chicken is our favorite fried chicken in the world and maybe it’s yours too. The recipe is not only in the spice mix but it’s also in how they make the chicken.
Besides those spices which we are going to tell you, you need flour and their secret is they pre-soak their chicken in buttermilk. So for efficiency on your ingredients, we pour 1 cup of buttermilk into a vessel and marinate chicken pieces there from one hour to overnight in the fridge.
The original recipe is held in a vault in the KFC headquarters along with little vials of the spices. That’s in it today they make it by giving half the recipe to a big company called the Cormack spices. There was some dude who found a copy of the recipe. It was on a handwritten piece of paper in some scrapbook.
So — 2 cups of flour we’re adding 2/3 a tablespoon of salt, one half tablespoon basil dried, 1/3 tbsp oregano dried, 1 tablespoon celery salt, 1 tablespoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon dry mustard that gives it a tang, and 4 tablespoons paprika. That’s a lot that gives it that slightly pink color you see in the flour and 2 tablespoons garlic salt, also 1 tablespoon ground ginger 3 tablespoons of white pepper.
That’s why the chicken doesn’t have a bunch of black flecks in it it’s got the white pepper!
Add your spices and put them all on top of the flour and mix it.
It keeps going until you don’t see any particular one ingredient because nobody wants a whole big bite of pepper in their bite. Then just stir this up and rub on the chicken.
It all to be crispy and beautiful like Kentucky Fried Chicken so turn it on at 360 degrees for 18 minutes. Put only four pieces of chicken in. Then flip it and cook for 13 minutes more. It is looking like our Kentucky Fried Chicken and that has no oil added.
Bon Appetit and have a great time with your family eating your homemade KFC chicken.
How to clean an air fryer oven
You always can read air fryer instructions. But it is so simple.
First, you have to detach your basket from the tray (depends on your air fryer model). Then use a scrubbing brush with washing-up liquid and just go over the basket and outer tray as well. Clean all the fats from your flask. Wash it with some warm water and just leave it on the side. Let it dry and then pop it back in the air fryer.
